Computers FOR Development is a Dutch based foundation aimed at promoting the use of refurbished computers and other hardware for sustainable development through the use of ICT in education. Our mission is to share the technology of rich western countries with people in the least developed countries.

Projects - Uganda

130 PCs have been shipped to Uganda for use at Brosdi centre. This was for a pilot on deployment of Open source applications for use by target audience.

Projects - Ghana

To Be Worldwide

To Be Worldwide is an organisation that develops sustainable educational facilities. Such facilities contain a (children’s) library, an activity program and an ICT Lab, vital for users to acquire necessary ICT skills needed to thrive in the current ICT driven economy. Educational Resource Centres as these facilities are called, operate complementary to existing school systems in developing countries.

Projects -Tanzania

ELCT - Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania

The provision of 212 PCs in 2004 and 60 more in 2005 have been for use in the 13 different hospitals run by ELCT. This was done in collaboration with Cordaid in The Hague (The Netherlands). Besides software and hardware, CFD has been able to organise a volunteer programme and internship programme for the capacity support within the various hospitals.
